Chrysa Voyiatzaki is Assistant Professor at the University of West Attica – Dept. of Biomedical Sciences since February 2022. She is Veterinarian and undertook her PhD (competitive grant from Greek Scholarship Foundation on Immunology of Parasites), at the Laboratory of Parasites and Parasitic Diseases in the School Veterinary Medicine of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and in collaboration with the Laboratory of Biochemistry of Hellenic Pasteur Institute.
She worked as Post–doctoral fellow (competitive grant from Onassis Foundation) and Research Associate in the Laboratory of Biochemistry and Laboratory of Molecular Parasitology of Hellenic Pasteur Institute , focusing on Research on Production of Monoclonal Antibodies against the Transferrin Receptor in Leishmania donovani and on Development of new techniques for the early detection of visceral leishmaniosis, respectively.
In the past, also has been employed a) as a Research/ Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Applied Sciences of Athens, Dept. of Medical Laboratories, b) as Medical consultant in ALAPIS R&D of Immunodiagnostics focusing on clinical management and immunizations of laboratory animals (sheep, rabbits, rats), for the production of polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies, c) as Veterinary consultant in Quality Services (Implementation of Quality Control systems HACCP and ISO22000). and d) as Small Animal Veterinarian Surgeon in veterinary clinic.
She holds a Lecturer position in Master Degree Program – Dept. of Biomedical Sciences, since 2017. Her research interests include the immunological and molecular study of parasite molecules, as well as other microorganisms which cause Infectious Diseases, their diagnosis and epidemical study, Zoonoses, Investigation of Natural Antiparasitic Products and Homeopathic Medicines on Parasitism and Animal Welfare.
