Plakitsi Athena

Assistant Professor in the field of “Contact Lens Technology and Optometry”. She graduated from the Department of Optics of the TEI of Athens. She completed post-graduate studies at UMIST, UK, from the Department of Optometry and Vision Sciences. She also holds a PhD under the supervision of Prof WN Charman at UMIST, UK, in the field of Optometry and Vision Sciences. She has worked for ten years (1996-2006) as an Optician – Optometrist in private ophthalmology clinics. Her scientific work has been published in international journals and has been presented at international conferences. Her main research interests relate to the performance of contact lenses and she teaches on the same subject area at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
